Research

We are interested in understanding the mechanisms that drive the three-dimensional organization of the chloroplast nucleoid in green algae and land plants.

Projects

Chloroplast nucleoid organization in Chlamy.
Chloroplast nucleoid organization in Chlamy.

We use whole-genome sequencing techniques and bioinformatics to explore the nucleoid organization in Chlamydomonas reinhardtii and land plants

Analysis of DNA topology in the chloroplast nucleoid.
Analysis of DNA topology in the chloroplast nucleoid.

Because the chloroplast has an exceptionally efficient transcription, we explore the effects of this process in the DNA topology.

PlaVisTo (Plastid-genome Visualization Tool).

Plavisto is a tool developed by Dr. Wierzbicki’s group to browse sequencing data of plastid genomes. It currently supports data in Arabidopsis.
